How are humans involved?
Humans are making some big impacts on the alpine regions, some good and some bad. We have also directly and indirectly affected the environment and ecosystem. Direct affects have been the development of cities, uncontrolled hunting, and construction of ski resorts and slopes. The main problem with direct affect is habitat lose and population decreased. Indirect ways have been one global warming that is increase snow melt and making it warmer for animals that love the cold or have adapted to the cold and harsh conditions. Secondly is air pollution, things like acid rain can sterilize mountain lakes that don't have the tolerance to deal with that much population so there is not a big buffer capacity. We have also helped and have even been inspired by these regions. Governments have created wildlife parks and protected areas for species that are struggling to survive due to uncontrolled hunting. They have also placed laws and regulations on how much of a species you can hunt and where you are allowed to hunt. Many poets, singers, song writers, artist and even the random hiker have been inspired by the beauty of the mountainous regions, unique wildlife and majestic landscape.
